Gary S. Ferber was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 30, 1952. He was raised in nearby Canal Winchester, Ohio, and graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1970. Gary attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974, majoring in Political Science. While at Muskingum, Gary was an Academic All-American basketball player, and was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, which he used to attend law school. He was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977, and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November, 1977.

Gary began his legal career as an associate attorney with Murray and Murray Co., L. P. A., Sandusky, Ohio, from 1977-1985, where he practiced personal injury litigation. From 1986-1988, Gary operated his own general practice, while also working as an Assistant Prosecutor for Erie County. He was a founding partner of Reno, Bogden and Ferber Co., L. P. A., which opened for business in 1989. Gary's primary practice areas are divorce/family law and personal injury/wrongful death law.

Gary and his wife, Julie, have 4 adult children. They also have 3 grandchildren.
