Melvyn J. Stauffer

Mr. Stauffer received his BA from Ohio State University in 1947 and his LLB from the University of Michigan in 1951.
 
Mr. Stauffer practiced law with the firm of Flynn, Py & Kruse his entire career, through the end of 2016. His practice concentration was in the areas of corporate and labor law, estate planning and probate administration, hospital administration, and private foundations and public charitable organizations.
 
Mr. Stauffer participated in the campaign for funds for the establishment of Firelands College of Bowling Green State University and later served as initial Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bowling Green State University/Firelands College.
 
Mr. Stauffer was active in the 1985 consolidation of Good Samaritan Hospital and Sandusky Memorial Hospital, resulting in the establishment of Firelands Community Hospital and in the 2001 acquisition by Firelands Community Hospital of Providence Hospital, resulting in the establishment of Firelands Regional Medical Center.
 
Mr. Stauffer was active in the establishment of the Sandusky/Erie County Community Foundation in 1995 and served as the initial Chairman of the Board of Directors.
